In order for new things to grow, sometimes you have to burn down the old things. Despite that wisdom, it doesn’t make the end of Epic Comicast any easier to grasp.
Epic Comicast is back for the first and last official episode of 2018. In this podcast, the dynamic duo tackle Star Wars: The Last Jedi and break down the divisive blockbuster in their trademark style. TC and Karina have built up ECC with their unique insight and no holds barred opinions and in their final episode…they live up to their reputation.
ECC might have saved the best for last as there is no shortage of opinions for the latest chapter in the Star Wars saga. Rian Johnson choose to subvert audience’s expectations with The Last Jedi, by making startling story decisions that threw a lot of the questions posed in The Force Awakens out the window. ECC gives their thoughts on Luke’s reaction to his lightsaber, the misguided Canto Bight plotline, and even Leia’s “secret” relationship. They don’t bite their tongue over what they liked, didn’t understand, or flat out hated. Epic Comicast is in rare form and it is the perfect bow to a great gift that they have been giving the geek world for years. Enjoy the podcast!
It’s time for the Epic Comicast to end. Welcome back to the podcast made by fans about the fandoms you love; Epic Comicast. It is a sad day for Karina and I with this being our last episode of the Epic Comicast in its current form. We definitely go down swinging though! Karina and I do what we do best and that’s breakdown and review Star Wars: The Last Jedi the only way we know how. I just want to thank everyone who has ever listened and taken the time to give us your ear. You are what made this show a blast to do. Love you all!

TC and I became friends over Instagram and decided to help each other’s new projects, Point of Geeks and Epic Comicast, four years ago. We then discovered that we were both Bay Area residents and were separated by a mere 15 miles. Our small online cross-promotions became a regularity, with us teaming up on everything from crashing the movie theaters (Fantastic Four…yikes!), to designing shows, fantasy football (we won’t talk about this season), and of course our EPIC trips to San Diego Comic Con. Where we made a lifelong memory by literally scoring the last three seats out of 6000, to 2016’s Hall H presentation. (Check out episode 106 for the entire, magical story.) We literally grew up in the industry together.
Tony and Karina, thanks for all the good times the past few years. However, this isn’t a sad day, just a day of change. There are still many new and exciting projects on the horizon and I’m excited for what the future holds for you two. However, it’s hard to imagine how the geek world didn’t just become slightly less…epic…
There are some good things coming in 2018… So, until the next time we collaborate!
Cheers on a job well done!
